Q.What is flat design?According to Wikipedia, is a style of interface design without any stylistic elements that give the illusion of three dimensions (such as drop shadows, gradients or textures)and is focused on a minimalist use of simple elements, typography and flat colors.Designers may prefer flat design because it allows interface designs to be more streamlined and efficient. It is easier to quickly convey information while still looking visually appealing and approachable.Additionally, it makes it easier to design an interface that is #responsive to changes in browser size across different devices.
It is based on 5 elements;
Absence of depth
Although flat design illustrates depth,it’s 2d with shapes blend to create the illusion of shadow.Stroke and extrusion is absent.
Use of simple elements
Shapes such as triangles,rectangles, circles and lines brings to life a flat design artwork.
Typography
Calligraphy is out of use.Clear and straight font is used for simplicity and readability of text.
Color
Candy colors are the way to go here.Colors that are desaturated and attractive to the eye without making the readers eye bleed because of too much brightness. Candy colors attract the eye because they are cute , easily complemented and blend perfectly with other colors.
